Heaters and Reclaimers
There are two main types of Infrared Equipment that have been proven to be the most effective tools on an asphalt maintenance job site. First, you will obviously need an Infrared Asphalt Heater. When we talk about one of these heaters, we are referring to any unit that has a heating chamber used to heat the asphalt surface.Below is a picture of a Ray-Tech Mini Combo heating chamber that is being lowered onto the asphalt on a work site.

This chamber, as discussed earlier in the blog, features six rows of uniquely designed converters, equipped with reflectors to heat the asphalt surface evenly while avoiding any cold spots or ridges. The chamber on this piece of equipment can be lowered and raised and also adjusted up and down to acquire the correct heating depth. This chamber in particular is 6' by 8' which is our largest available. Because not all jobs would get away with this sized chamber, we offer multiple other sizes as we have listed at the bottom of this page.
The second piece of Infrared Equipment is the Hot Box/Reclaimer. This is just as it sounds, an insulated heated box for asphalt storage as well as reheating and thus reclaiming used asphalt. Below is an example.
This particular unit is known as the Ray-Tech RC6000 and is a relatively new model. It is capable of holding 3 tons of new or used asphalt at a workable temperature for at least 48 hours. The reclaimers such as this come equipped with insulated shovel doors either on the rear or side as well as insulated top loading doors. The boxes are heated by a system of burners found under the box itself. The reclaimers we offer also vary in size and load capabilities as are also listed at the bottom of this page. We now also manufacture certain reclaimers with hydraulic door and/or hydraulic dump options.
Combination Equipment
Infrared Equipment consisting of a single heater or a single reclaimer are available. Some of Ray-Tech's units like this are the Mini Tech, Tech 48, Tech 20, Tech 78 and Tech 108 (single heater each) or the RC4000, RC6000 and RC8000 (single reclaimer each). Combination units are available, however, if you feel they would better fit your jobs. Below are several of these combination units.
